It must have been an act of God when Sam Chappell thought to set up Mitch and Holly. After both received a text from him inquiring of their willingness to go on a blind date, he managed to convince them to connect while Mitch was briefly in Denver on a work trip.
On August 26th, 2017, they met for the first time at Linger. Four hours later, they finally decided it was time to bid their farewells. Mitch asked if he could call sometime, and Holly welcomed the gesture, although given the fact that Mitch lived in a different state, she didn't really think a relationship was likely to happen. None-the-less, Mitch did call and was actually very persistent.
Over the course of almost a year, Mitch and Holly would solidify their relationship and travel back and forth from Denver to Charlotte to visit each other. Mitch and Holly attribute Frontier airlines to staying in business for all of their traveling ;).
Throughout the long distance year, they would talk at least 2-3 hours a day, something that neither would ever have dreamed of doing, and yet, it still didn't seem like enough time. These conversations; however, helped develop a foundation of truly getting to know each other's heart since it was their primary way of connecting.
In August of 2018, Mitch finally made the move to Denver. Although he misses his community back in North Carolina, he has molded perfectly in the community in Denver as well. Mitch proposed to Holly on a sunny morning at Maroon Bells in Aspen, Colorado. He had planned a picnic for them both and had a card for Holly. Once they started packing up to leave the mountains, Mitch asked if they could take one last photo. As soon as the camera was set up, he got down onto one knee, and asked Holly if she would be his wife. Given that Holly was in shock, Mitch actually had to ask her 3 different times if she would marry him....
"Will you marry me?"
"Will you be my wife?"
..........."Will you spend your life with me?"
Holly releived Mitch when she snapped out of her shocked state and yelled "YES!".
Only 3 months later, Mitch and Holly made their wedding vows in gorgeous Estes Park.
