Intimate Backyard Wedding | Colorado wedding photographer | Heath and gina are married!
Gina went out with some of her friends one night to go dancing when there was also a separate group of guys who had the same idea. Gina caught Heath's attention, probably because of her huge bright eyed smile, so Heath came over to ask one of Gina's friends if he could "steal her friend for a dance?" Gina's friend said "absolutely!", so Heath grabbed Gina's hand and they danced for the rest of the night.
That night sealed the deal for their relationship, and over time, Gina and Heath bonded over their love for the outdoors and spending time with their friends and family.
Gina fell in love with Heath because she remembers just how caring Heath was, not only toward her, but the people she also chose to surround herself with.
One of Heath and Gina's favorite places to spend time is in Breckenridge Colorado. Heath had asked Gina to plan a weekend away up there because he knew that if he were to plan it, Gina would catch onto the fact that he had something extra special in mind. So Gina went ahead and planned a weekend away. The day before they were supposed to leave, Heath went golfing with Gina's dad and asked for his blessing in their marriage.
The morning they were supposed to go hiking, Gina stumbled across an image of Boreas Pass; she loved it and wanted to check it out, so they quickly changed their plans to drive up the pass instead. During the drive, Heath was unusually quiet but Gina eluded it to the fact that it was also early in the morning and Heath wasn't as much of an early bird--she would later find out that Heath was simply thoughtful about how he could make this the perfect proposal for Gina. Gina spotted a gorgeous aspen grove and Heath asked Gina if she wanted to stop for a photo. They got out of the car and started taking photos of the grove, then Heath asked Gina if she would like one of them together. Gina of course said yes, but instead of taking a photo, Heath set up a video. While Gina was posing for a photo, Heath got down on one knee and asked Gina to spend the rest of her life with him. Gina of course said "YES!". They spent the rest of their day enjoying Breckenridge and their new engagement together and the rest, as they say, is history.
Gina and Heath were originally planning a large gather at Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado. However, due to COVID-19, they ended up deciding to celebrate at Gina's parent's property in Broomfield. It's wonderful how this beautiful couple has rolled with the punches...at the end of the day, they just wanted to be married, and they did just that.
