Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding | Colorado Wedding Photographer | Luke and Sarah are Married!
It was their mom's that introduced Luke and Sarah to each other. Both Luke and Sarah's moms were in a bible study together and Sarah was coming down on a travel nursing assignment to Houston for three months in the winter/spring of 2018. She didn't know anyone. So knowing this, Kim (Sarah's mom), exchanged her daughter's number with Sheila (Luke's mom). Shortly there-after, Luke reached out to Sarah to simply help her with some questions she had about Houston. A few weeks after Sarah was done in Houston, Luke reached out to see how she was doing and asked if she wanted to hang out...because Sheila asked him to reach out to her. They ended up going to dinner and hit it off right away. They both decided to hang out the entire weekend after their dinner date.
On Luke and Sarah's second date, they began a very serious talk about their faith, values, and hopes and desires for the future. They realized that their beliefs aligned so much with each other that from then on, they knew they were supposed to be together.
When it came time for the proposal, Luke knew he wanted to make it incredibly special for Sarah. The two were in Palm Springs for a family vacation with Luke's family after Christmas. The JW Marriott provided gondola boats that traveled around the property to different restaurants and Sarah had been dying to ride one of them! Now, Luke had been planning the proposal for months, so this was an opportunity he truly became excited about. Since they were on vacation with Luke's family, Luke nonchalantly suggested to Sarah that they should have a mini date before going to dinner with his family. They both decided to go over to the JW and have a drink and appetizer in the hotel lobby to start. Luke then arranged a private gondola ride to take around the hotel property. After getting off the gondola, Luke pointed out a lit up walk way with candles and champagne. To Sarah's surprise, there was also a chalkboard that read, "Will you marry me?". After taking a few moments for Sarah to realize that that sign was meant for HER, she couldn't help but burst out in tears. Of course she said yes! The second biggest surprise came when Luke and Sarah went out for dinner afterwards to find both Luke's family AND Sarah's parents hidden in a private room. Luke and Sarah along with their family's celebrated the rest of the night.
