5 Things You May Not Know About Me
Today, I'm switching up my usual business tips for Friday 5, and we're going to get a little personal here. I love when we have a chance to get to know each other better! Maybe you can relate to something I say below...let me know!
1. I became a wedding photographer by accident
I know a lot of photographers who always knew that was what they were meant to do, but for me, I fell into it by accident when a friend asked me to photograph her wedding, and ever since that day, I knew I found a love and passion for what I do.
2. I have 5 siblings
And I'm happy to say I'm close to every one of them. My mom always wanted 6 kids total when she was alive, but in 2003, she died of a very rare disease called Sarcoidosis. She left 5 kids behind; but when my dad remarried my new mom, she had a son, and both have graciously become a part of our family and now I can't imagine my family not being the way it is.
3. My husband and I eloped 1 month after he proposed to me
...And it was the best decision we made on a whim. Something I don't regret at all! We had been engaged for a month when we were having a conversation. He looked at me and asked me, "should we just get married tomorrow?" We went to the court house the very next morning as soon as it opened and sealed the deal! No one knew except our immediate families.
4. I never wanted a Great Dane...
When our Boxer Lab was 9, we started talking about the possibility of getting her a buddy to help keep her "young". We tossed around the idea of German Shepherds, Dalmatians, Golden Retrievers, and when Frank said he always wanted a Great Dane, the first thing I told him was "no". But then we ended up looking at breeders and the day we found Kai's breeder, the mom had just had pups and the breeder posted a photo of Kai and I fell in love immediately, so I put a deposit down right away without having done any prior research on Great Danes. I just knew I had to have her. Turns out, Kai has been the biggest blessing to me, and through all the losses I've had this year, she has truly helped me heal. We never knew just how much we would truly need her, but she came into our lives at just the right time. The picture below is the picture that made me fall in love. Also, can you believe she was that small!?
5. Eating healthy is a difficult challenge for me since I've always been naturally skinny my entire life.
Only recently did I really discover the impact of the food I eat when I started feeling really lousy and tired because of my diet. Just because you're skinny, doesn't mean you're healthy. It's been a challenge for me to eat healthy, but it's also a huge goal of mine to do so. What are some of your favorite healthy eating recipes?
Happy Friday! I hope you enjoy your day and your upcoming weekend!
